Rev. Dr. Charles L. Howard is University Chaplain and Vice President for Social Equity and Community at the University of Pennsylvania. His writings include both academic studies and meditative poetry, with a focus on topics including Black theology, poverty, and social change. His works include The Souls of Poor Folk and The Awe and the Awful. In this moving and enlightening conversation with Dr. Yeshaya Gruber of the Israel Bible Center, Dr. Howard delves into heavy social problems of our time from a Biblical perspective, informed by a thoughtful understanding of history and Scripture.
